Total Time 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt adjust to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper adjust to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried chives optional
  • 1-2 teaspoons white vinegar or lemon juice adjust to taste
  • 2-3 tablespoons buttermilk adjust for desired consistency

Instructions

  1. Combine Base Ingredients: In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise and sour cream until smooth.
  2. Add Seasonings: Stir in the dried parsley, dried dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and dried chives (if using). Mix well to ensure even distribution of the seasonings.
  3. Adjust Flavor: Taste the mixture and adjust the seasoning to your preference. If you want a tangier flavor, add white vinegar or lemon juice gradually until you achieve the desired taste.
  4. Thin with Buttermilk: Add buttermilk to the mixture, starting with 2 tablespoons. Stir well and check the consistency. If you prefer a thinner ranch dressing, add more buttermilk, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach the desired thickness.
  5. Chill Before Serving: Cover the bowl and refrigerate the ranch dressing for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to meld together.
  6. Serve: Once chilled, give the dressing a final stir and serve with your favorite wings, vegetables, or as a dipping sauce for other snacks.
