Garlic Bagel Chips
Don't just throw bagels away when they get hard, turn them into crunchy, savory bagel chips!
Ingredients
- 3 bagel a few days old
- ⅓ cup olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ¼ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
-
Turn the oven up to 325 F. While that's heating up, lightly grease a baking sheet with some olive oil.
-
Slice your old bagels into 1/8 inch thick rounds with a serrated knife and arrange them in a layer on the prepped baking sheet. In a small bowl, stir the olive oil, garlic, Italian seasoning, and Parmesan cheese together. Apply the olive oil mix to the bagel chips with a spoon or pastry brush. If you don't have enough to cover all of the chips, you can add a little more oil without losing the flavor. Lightly season the chips with salt and pepper.
-
Bake the chips for 15 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven. They should be lightly browned. Take the chips out of the oven and let them cool. They should become crispier as they cool off.
