Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream
Try and deny mint chocolate chip isn't one of the best ice cream flavors. You can't do it.
- 2 cups 2% milk
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 3 drops green food coloring Optional
- 1 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
Stir together the milk, cream, sugar, salt, vanilla extract and peppermint extract in a big bowl until the sugar has dissolved. If you want the ice cream to be green, add the food coloring now.
Pour the mix into an ice cream maker, and follow the maker's instructions to freeze it up. Around 10 minutes into the freezing process, add the chocolate chips. When the ice cream has become nice and thick, about 30 minutes later, transfer it into a container and let it freeze in the freezer for 2 hours.
