Cook Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe but firm bananas
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice optional, for flavor and to prevent browning
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon optional, for added flavor
  • Cooking spray for the air fryer basket

Instructions

Preheat your Air Fryer:

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (180°C). This will take a few minutes to reach the desired temperature.

Prepare the Bananas:

  1. Peel the bananas and slice them into thin, even rounds. Aim for slices that are about 1/8 inch thick.
  2. If you want to prevent browning and add flavor, you can lightly brush the banana slices with lemon juice and sprinkle them with a little cinnamon.

Arrange the Slices:

  1. Lightly coat the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Lay the banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they don't overlap. You may need to do this in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.

Air Fry the Banana Chips:

  1. Air fry the banana slices at 350°F (180°C) for about 8-10 minutes. Keep an eye on them as cooking times can vary depending on the thickness of the slices and your air fryer model.
  2. After 4-5 minutes, open the air fryer and flip the banana slices over to ensure even cooking. Continue cooking until they are golden brown and crispy.

Cool and Enjoy:

  1. Once they're done, remove the banana chips from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes. They will continue to crisp up as they cool.

Serve:

  1. Enjoy your air-fried banana chips as a delicious and healthy snack. You can store any leftovers in an airtight container to maintain their crispiness.
