Garlic-Lemon Scallops

  • ¾ cup butter
  • 3 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 2 pounds large sea scallops
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice


  1. In a big skillet on medium-high heat, melt the butter and stir in the garlic. Let that stuff cook for a few seconds until it turns fragrant. Add in the scallops and cook for several minutes on each side. They should be firm and opaque.

  2. Move the scallops over to a platter, then whisk the salt, pepper, and lemon juice into the leftover butter to make a sauce. Pour the sauce over the scallops and serve.
