Crispy tater tots covered in nacho cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 32 ounce package frozen tater tots
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 1 ounce package taco seasoning mix
  • ¾ cup water
  • 1 cup spicy nacho cheese sauce
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup diced onion
  • ¼ cup jalapeno pepper slices

Instructions

  1. Turn the oven up to 450 F.

  2. Arrange the tots in a single layer on a baking sheet.

  3. Bake the tots in the oven until golden and heated through, 24 to 26 minutes.

  4. In a big skillet over medium-high, cook and stir the ground beef until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes, then drain and dump the grease. Stir the water and taco seasoning into the beef and keep cooking and stirring until the liquid thickens, 2 to 3 minutes.

  5. Pour the cheese into a microwave-safe bowl and heat it in the microwave for 30 seconds. Give it a stir, then continue heating in 15-second intervals until hot, stirring between each intervals.

  6. Spread the tots on a serving plate and top them with meat, cheese sauce, sour cream, onion, and jalapeno slices.
