Spinach Dip

Course Sauce and Dips
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 35 minutes
Total Time 40 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 10-ounce package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional, for a hint of heat
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions for garnish
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley for garnish
  • 1 round bread bowl optional, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the thawed and drained chopped spinach, mayonnaise, sour cream, Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, minced garlic, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the spinach mixture to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheeses are melted and the dip is heated through. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  4. If you prefer a baked version, transfer the mixture to a baking dish. Alternatively, for a festive touch, hollow out the center of a round bread loaf, reserving the removed bread for dipping, and place the spinach dip inside the bread bowl.
  5. Bake the dip in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  6. Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped green onions and fresh parsley.
  7. Serve the spinach dip warm with tortilla chips, sliced baguette, or the reserved bread pieces from the bread bowl.
  8. Enjoy the creamy, flavorful goodness of this spinach dip at your gatherings!
